A thunder of bison racing past the Jeep in Yellowstone. Horseback through the Costa Rican rainforest until the trees opened onto the Pacific. Finding the little café a local quietly insists you can’t leave town without trying.

Those are the moments I chase.

My family and I have explored 46 states together, with the Dakotas, Hawaii, and Alaska next before setting our sights on U.S. territories and beyond.

When I arrive somewhere new, I slow down.

I wander.

I pay attention.

I notice the little things that make a place memorable. The way morning light fills a room. The quiet corner where someone lingers with a cup of coffee. The view that makes people stay just a little longer.

That’s how I photograph a place.
